The first weekend after Portland’s final frost has a sound all its own. It’s the sound of hundreds of cars idling for parks outside garden centers, followed by frantic shoveling and planting. Spring is fleeting in the Pacific Northwest and we all know we must act fast to take advantage of nature’s bounty of rain and sun.

One of the first plants we sowed this last spring was a local sugarsnap pea. It burst out of the soil like a horror movie prop and wrapped its spindly tendrils around everything it could. Sit next to it for a sunny afternoon and I’m convinced it would ensnare you.

Its vivid green and fighting spirit inspired us to create these pod earrings. Lightweight and a delightfully fresh shade of green, these danglers will brighten the day of everyone you meet. They’re so adorable, couldn’t you just eat them?
